Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl The Money Shot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kojura Nakagawa! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Money Shot scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Nakagawa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice body punch from Nakagawa. A decent looking cross lands there for The Money Shot. Nakagawa with a nice cross. Nakagawa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The Money Shot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Nakagawa in side control, throwing shots but The Money Shot defends. Nakagawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Money Shot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nakagawa misses with the ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Nakagawa working away. The Money Shot sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The Money Shot is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nakagawa looks to land a strike but The Money Shot avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Nakagawa throwing strikes from guard but The Money Shot blocks nicely. Nakagawa is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Nakagawa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The Money Shot works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakagawa lands a couple of elbows. Nakagawa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nakagawa is looking to work some ground and pound but The Money Shot has wrist control. Nakagawa postures up and lands a big shot to The Money Shot's brow. The Money Shot tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nakagawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. The Money Shot swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nakagawa looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nakagawa has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at MMA Dojo (Top Gym in Tokyo*) . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Nakagawa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The Money Shot utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nakagawa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nakagawa is looking to work some ground and pound but The Money Shot has wrist control. Nakagawa trying to control but The Money Shot is working from the bottom. Nakagawa throws an elbow that misses. The Money Shot uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nakagawa's guard. Nice move by The Money Shot! The Money Shot controls from within his opponent's guard. Nakagawa controls The Money Shot momentarily but The Money Shot frees himself. Nakagawa tries to strike from the bottom.
Nakagawa tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nakagawa striking off his back but it's not causing The Money Shot any problems. Nakagawa punching from the bottom - just letting The Money Shot know he's still in a fight. Nakagawa throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakagawa lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. The Money Shot working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nakagawa. Nakagawa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Nakagawa wants to control from the top but The Money Shot keeps moving. The Money Shot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The Money Shot looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nakagawa working some strikes from top position. The Money Shot keeping moving, preventing Nakagawa from controlling successfully. Nakagawa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The Money Shot working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nakagawa. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nakagawa is in close to The Money Shot's body, working some short punches and elbows. Nakagawa scoring with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakagawa looking to sit in guard and control but The Money Shot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as The Money Shot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The Money Shot wants to control from the top but Nakagawa keeps moving. Nakagawa trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. The Money Shot stopping the sweep attempt from Nakagawa. The Money Shot with a flurry of punches that miss. The Money Shot preventing the sweep. Nakagawa is still trying to improve position. Nakagawa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Money Shot manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nakagawa working some strikes from top position. Nakagawa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nakagawa trying to control the position from guard on top but The Money Shot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kojura Nakagawa dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nakagawa uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from The Money Shot. The Money Shot ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nakagawa moves away. Nakagawa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Kojura Nakagawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakagawa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Nakagawa throws the left hand but The Money Shot avoids the punch easily. Nakagawa looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for The Money Shot! Nakagawa working the ground and pound from side control. Kojura Nakagawa has got the better of the ground game so far. Sloppy strikes there by Nakagawa. Nakagawa working the head and body with strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Nakagawa scores with a couple of short elbows. Nakagawa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused The Money Shot some visible discomfort.
Nakagawa cracks The Money Shot with an elbow. That is naaassty. The Money Shot takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The Money Shot is rocked! The Money Shot takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Oh The Money Shot is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Nakagawa lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt The Money Shot! Nakagawa senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put The Money Shot out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!
