Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jirka Fukala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Happy Gilmore!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Gilmore finds it's target.
Gilmore moves out of range of the strikes.
Fukala takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Fukala smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Gilmore looks to land a left hand but Fukala moved out of range nicely.
Fukala throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fukala throws a hook to the side of Gilmore's head but Gilmore sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fukala takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Gilmore takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fukala connects with a body shot.
Gilmore fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gilmore tests Fukala's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A jab from Gilmore misses.
Fukala connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gilmore's hands.
Gilmore buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gilmore takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gilmore's corner calls for a 1-2. Gilmore obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Fukala falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gilmore counters with a left and a right that stings Fukala.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gilmore slips under a jab from Fukala.
Gilmore connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Fukala tumbling to the canvas! Gilmore pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Fukala was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Happy Gilmore!
