Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scruffy Bushrod (ranked 3648 p4p, 368 weight class) and Grant Dukes (ranked 5917 p4p, 459 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scruffy Bushrod! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Dukes! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bushrod takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Dukes throws a hook to the side of Bushrod's head but Bushrod sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bushrod tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Dukes manages to circle out of the way. Dukes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Dukes jabbing away but nothing is landing. Bushrod motions for Dukes to come forward. Bushrod throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Dukes doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Bushrod tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dukes takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Dukes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bushrod has time to react. Dukes stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Dukes checks the leg kick nicely there.
Dukes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bushrod. Bushrod tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A nice side step and Dukes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Bushrod misses with a head kick.
Dukes appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Nice defenses there by Bushrod. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dukes misses with a wild body shot. Dukes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Bushrod closes the distance looking to clinch and Dukes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bushrod misses with a leg kick. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dukes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bushrod motions for Dukes to come forward. Bushrod throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dukes checks a leg kick. Dukes just misses with a punch to the body.
Bushrod wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Scruffy Bushrod is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bushrod slaps away a takedown attempt from Dukes, before circling back to the center of the mat. That kick from Bushrod tenderised Dukes's leg. Dukes is trying to keep his angry face on. Dukes tries to keep at a distance but Bushrod has taken the fight into the clinch. Dukes working some nice short punches in the clinch. Bushrod with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Dukes tries to work over Bushrod's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A short right from Dukes on the inside. A nice right hand lands inside from Dukes. Bushrod missing with knees to the body.

Bushrod taking a breather. Dukes is leaning against Bushrod and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Dukes lands a hook to the side of the head. Bushrod leaning against his opponent.
Bushrod is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dukes is defending well for now. Dukes goes for a takedown attempt but Bushrod pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bushrod tries to move into range but Dukes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Dukes lands a head shot. Dukes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Bushrod moves into the clinch. Dukes softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Dukes has picked Bushrod up - he's going for a ride! Dukes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Dukes is controlling the pace.
Dukes is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bushrod!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Poor strikes thrown by Dukes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Dukes thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Dukes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Dukes looking to ground and pound but Bushrod is blocking nicely. Dukes throwing strikes here but Bushrod is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Bushrod is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Bushrod tries to hold on but Dukes pushes him away. Bushrod sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Dukes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dukes throwing shots but Bushrod is blocking nicely. Well, if Dukes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dukes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bushrod's head. Dukes stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dukes thows a huge punch but Bushrod dodges it nicely.
Dukes is pressing down on Bushrod's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bushrod is holding on for now. Dukes is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grant Dukes dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Dukes scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Dukes misses with a few strikes there.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dukes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dukes misses with the ground and pound. Bushrod can't do much from the bottom here. Bushrod is not content to let Dukes control the position. Dukes throws an elbow but Bushrod slips to the side and avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dukes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Dukes is looking to take a break and control but Bushrod is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bushrod is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukes creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bushrod sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Dukes trying to control the position but Bushrod is working away. Dukes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bushrod haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. You can see the frustration on Bushrod's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dukes trying to control the action but Bushrod is working from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dukes controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bushrod fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bushrod tries to clinch up but Dukes circles away and keeps his distance. We've been told by Bushrod's head coaches at The Forge that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dukes shoots in for a takedown but Bushrod shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Grant Dukes seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jab from Dukes. Dukes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bushrod has time to react. Bushrod looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bushrod's hands. Bushrod scores with a leg kick.

Bushrod lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Bushrod tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dukes swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dukes moves into range and clinches up with Bushrod. Dukes lands a shot to the body. Dukes misses with a punch to the body.
Dukes digs a right hand underneath Bushrod's ribcage. Bushrod let out a lung full of air as it connected. Dukes lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bushrod backwards. Dukes lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bushrod backwards. Bushrod is looking to control Dukes's arms but Dukes gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bushrod has his back to the cage. Bushrod misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bushrod tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dukes avoids it. Bushrod trying to control the position but instead, Dukes has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bushrod into the cage. Dukes softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dukes blocks an uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dukes lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bushrod backwards. Bushrod prevents a body shot from Dukes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dukes blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Bushrod connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dukes's face.

Dukes scores with an uppercut up the middle. Dukes lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. A short body shot lands from Dukes as the two fighters clinch.

Bushrod is rocked! Dukes softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Oh Bushrod is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Dukes lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Bushrod. Dukes lands a shot to the body. Dukes has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dukes presses Bushrod against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dukes lands with a short head shot on the inside. Dukes is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bushrod is defending well. Grant Dukes seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Bushrod is looking to control Dukes's arms but Dukes gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bushrod has his back to the cage. Dukes pulls guard. Dukes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bushrod doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bushrod manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bushrod seems to have got his legs back now. Dukes wants to sweep here but Bushrod controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grant Dukes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Dukes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bushrod is looking to escape. Grant Dukes has got the better of the ground game so far. Bushrod is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bushrod manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Bushrod, under a barage of strikes from Dukes.
Bushrod is staying active underneath Dukes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dukes controlling the action here. Dukes trying to mount his opponent but Bushrod defends it. Dukes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bushrod is in trouble now - Dukes has advanced to mount! Poor strikes thrown by Dukes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dukes controlling his opponent. Dukes throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bushrod because Dukes loaded up on that one. Dukes landing punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bushrod wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dukes.
Dukes controlling his opponent. Dukes thowing shots but they're missing. Dukes wants to control the action but instead Bushrod gets a body lock and reverses into Dukes's guard! Nice work! Dukes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Bushrod should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Dukes has tightened it up now! Bushrod should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
