The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vergys throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Savage tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vergys is in Savage's guard.
Vergys is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Savage has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vergys is looking to defend but Savage has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vergys! Savage pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vergys taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Macho Man Savage!
