PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Crapple Cropple (ranked 4938 p4p, 416 weight class) and Ralph Brooks (ranked 5955 p4p, 458 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crapple Cropple!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ralph Brooks!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cropple shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cropple working the head and body with strikes.
Brooks slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Cropple engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Brooks has momentary wrist control but Cropple slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cropple is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cropple lands a couple of elbows.
Cropple slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cropple lands a couple of digs.
Brooks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cropple. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Brooks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cropple wants to pass the guard but Brooks is keeping the position.
Cropple stays in close to Brooks's body and controls the position.
Cropple seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brooks for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A head kick misses from Brooks.

Cropple dives in and scores a takedown into Brooks's guard.
Brooks is wriggling around but Cropple manages to pass to half guard.

Still in half guard, Cropple seems content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brooks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cropple's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cropple's back!
Cropple wants to control his opponent's hands but Brooks gets his hands free.
Brooks has the hooks in. Cropple is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Cropple is working hard here to advance position.
Brooks is trying to stick to Cropple's back but Cropple is turning into Brooks. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Brooks's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cropple.
Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cropple lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brooks controls Cropple momentarily but Cropple frees himself.

Brooks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cropple doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cropple manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cropple controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cropple working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brooks's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crapple Cropple dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Cropple drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cropple showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Cropple won't allow Brooks to get back to his feet.
Cropple works over Brooks with some ground and pound from guard.
Cropple prevents Brooks from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cropple pushes down on Brooks's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cropple has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cropple drops an elbow to the side of Brooks's head.
Cropple is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brooks can do to turn this around?
Brooks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cropple scores with a couple of good hammerfists.


Brooks is rocked!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cropple lands with a punch from half guard.
Brooks is still in real trouble! Can Cropple finish him?
Brooks has hold of Cropple's hands but Cropple slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Nice strikes from Cropple there.
Cropple not doing much here.
Cropple has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Cropple postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Brooks in real trouble here! The ref calls for Brooks to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Crapple Cropple!
