Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kalle Kossu (ranked 1193 p4p, 160 weight class) and Andy McCallum (ranked 1261 p4p, 165 weight class). McCallum has chosen Dixie as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kalle Kossu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andy McCallum!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCallum fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

McCallum feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kossu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McCallum throws a strike but Kossu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McCallum pulls Kossu in close to prevent any damage.
McCallum wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kossu is now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kossu misses with a lunging right hand
and McCallum counters with a lovely straight right hand!
McCallum shoots for a double leg takedown but Kossu sprawls well. He's pushed McCallum's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

McCallum chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kossu can pounce on him.
Kossu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kossu throws a nice inside leg kick.
A big left from Kossu misses.
McCallum changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
McCallum shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kossu sprawls well. Kossu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McCallum gets slowly back to his feet.
As McCallum backs away, Kossu returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Kalle Kossu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy McCallum.
McCallum fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kossu manages to avoid it.
An attempted straight right counter from Kossu misses the target.
Andy McCallum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McCallum wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

McCallum closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kossu did well to prevent McCallum getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCallum throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kossu to regain full guard.
McCallum trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kossu is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McCallum is looking to work some ground and pound but Kossu has wrist control.

McCallum is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Kossu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McCallum is proving hard to escape from.
McCallum has his hands on Kossu's head, controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kossu misses with a hook.

Kossu throws a right hand that misses
and McCallum counters with a stiff right hand.
McCallum fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kossu avoids it really well and circles away.
McCallum ducks under a wild hook from Kossu.
Kossu is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McCallum jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kossu is looking to counter punch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kalle Kossu will probably get the nod.

Kossu lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Kossu is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McCallum.
McCallum shoots in for a takedown but Kossu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

McCallum manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kossu on his heels. He'll look to pass Kossu's guard now, I'm sure.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw McCallum working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kossu enables McCallum to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kossu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kossu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McCallum's guard.

A close second round but Andy McCallum will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCallum accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McCallum drives through with a takedown into Kossu's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

McCallum might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kossu haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
McCallum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Andy McCallum.
