Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim O Neil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franklin Thomas! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Neil clinches up with Thomas and pushes him back against the cage. O Neil lands a shoulder strike. A shot in the inside from O Neil. O Neil stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
A nice right hand lands inside from O Neil. O Neil lands a hook that snaps the head of Thomas backwards. O Neil prevents a takedown attempt there.
O Neil lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. O Neil lands with a right to the head. Thomas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. O Neil smiles and moves away.
O Neil has Thomas up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! With the fighters clinched against the cage, O Neil creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. O Neil wants to stall.
O Neil trying to control the position but instead, Thomas has worked for underhooks and has pushed O Neil into the cage. O Neil scores with a hook to the body. Thomas fails to pull guard.
Jim O Neil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Thomas. Thomas looks winded! Thomas stalling in the clinch but O Neil improves position. O Neil gets through Thomas's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Good body shot from O Neil.
O Neil lands an uppercut. A right hand to the body from O Neil.
O Neil lands a shoulder strike. O Neil working some nice short punches in the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from O Neil.
A quick uppercut on the inside from O Neil. A nice left hand lands by O Neil.
O Neil lands a left hand.

Thomas is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! O Neil lands a right hand that snaps the head of Thomas backwards. Thomas is still on wobbly legs! Can O Neil finish him? O Neil is leaning against Thomas and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
O Neil lands a big uppercut and Thomas is down! He's in big trouble - O Neil follows him to the mat!
O Neil escapes and gets back to his feet. Crack! O Neil connects with the perfect overhand right and Thomas falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for O Neil!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jim O Neil!
