Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Nicky (ranked 3037 p4p, 267 weight class) and Christian Craine (ranked 4681 p4p, 0 weight class). Craine is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: OMB Peezy - Lay Down. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nelson Nicky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christian Craine! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Nicky misses and Craine counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Craine avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Craine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nicky is keeping the position for now. Nicky has a closed guard, preventing Craine from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nicky has Craine pulled in close to control his posture. Nicky looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Craine puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nicky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Craine is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nicky on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nicky tries to get out of the position. Craine wants to take a breather but Nicky is having none of it. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nicky drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nicky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Craine keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Craine is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nicky's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Craine is controlling Nicky's trapped leg to prevent Nicky from advancing to side control. Nicky is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Craine is working to get back to half guard.
Craine tries to hold on but Nicky pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Craine sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Nicky is trying to control. Craine wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nicky wants to work for an arm triangle but Craine is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nicky is breathing heavily. Nicky is trying to work for a kimura but Craine is defending well.
Craine looks like he's trying to stand up.
Craine is pressing down on Nicky's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Craine throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Nicky has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nicky stopping the sweep attempt from Craine. Craine looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nicky wants to control from the top but Craine keeps moving. Nicky with a flurry of punches that miss. Nicky is looking to work some ground and pound but Craine has wrist control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Craine shoots in looking for a takedown but Nicky manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Craine's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Craine. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nicky drives through with a takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nelson Nicky will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Nicky shoots in and bounces Craine off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Nicky scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Craine is trying to keep Nicky in close.
Nicky won't allow Craine to get back to his feet. Nelson Nicky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Craine is trying to control the position but Nicky postures up. Nicky tries to stand but Craine is controlling from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nicky won't allow Craine to sweep him here. Nicky stands up and waves to Craine to follow him. Craine leaves Nicky with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Nicky with that takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nicky tries to score a power double leg takedown but Craine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nicky somewhat. Craine wants to counter the offense by Nicky and move into the clinch position. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nelson Nicky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Craine throws the kick towards the body but Nicky avoids it. Craine defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nicky. Craine with the counter takedown but Nicky avoids it easily. Craine tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nicky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Craine somewhat. Nicky appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Nicky closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Craine did well to prevent Nicky getting side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Craine is controlling Nicky's position as best he can from this difficult position. Craine won't allow Nicky to pass to mount. Craine controlling the position well. Craine slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Craine has his foot on Nicky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nicky works his way back into a safe position though. Craine looking for a sweep. Not yet Craine, not yet. Nicky trying to control but Craine is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicky drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Craine manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nicky has Craine in his guard.

Nicky really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Craine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Nicky wants to control but Craine is keeping busy and won't allow it. Christian Craine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Nelson Nicky is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nicky shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Craine is trying to defend but Nicky finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nicky is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Craine defends it well. Craine gets back to full guard.

Nicky working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Craine's head. Nicky looking to pass the guard. Craine working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nicky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nicky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nicky is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Craine is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nicky is trying to control the position but Craine postures up. Nicky looking for subs off his back but Craine has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Craine is taking a breather. Nicky says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Craine is trying to control. Nicky wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Craine takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Craine lands a nice short elbow. Craine is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nicky sees it coming and defends easily. Nicky trying to hold on to Craine's head to control him but Craine postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Craine trying to control the pace.

Craine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Craine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nicky has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Craine has managed to get both his arms back between Nicky's legs - danger averted. Nicky is trying to keep Craine in close.

And that's the end of the fight! Christian Craine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Craine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
