Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Mendez's head back.


That has opened up Carlos Mendez's cut even more.
The fighters circling - Mendez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A quick step to the side and Davis tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carlos Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Mendez.
Mendez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Davis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Davis throws a hook to the side of Mendez's head but Mendez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Mendez is rocked!
Mendez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mendez is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him?
Mendez throws a jab but it's blocked by Davis.
Mendez seems to have recovered his senses.

Mendez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Davis back to the cage. Mendez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Mendez misses with a hook. Davis ducked under it nicely.
Davis was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Davis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mendez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
