Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yajson Rram (ranked 1124 p4p, 67 weight class) and Daiyan Valdes (ranked 1449 p4p, 86 weight class). Rram comes to the cage accompanied by Overhaul. Valdes has chosen a lo cubano as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yajson Rram!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daiyan Valdes!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rram lands a glancing blow to the side of Valdes's head.
Rram misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rram lands a two punch combo.
Rram scores with a hook to the body. Valdes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rram catches Valdes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Valdes on the wrong end of a nice hook.
No luck for Valdes with that takedown attempt.
Valdes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rram stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rram wants it to stay on the feet.
Yajson Rram has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daiyan Valdes.
Valdes fails with the takedown.
Rram displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Valdes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rram lands a right hook to the body.
Valdes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rram defends it nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rram, as that shot connected.

Horrible takedown attempt by Valdes or perhaps it was just good defense by Rram, which made it look bad.
Rram uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Valdes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rram scores with a one two! Valdes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Valdes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rram circles away.
Rram feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Valdess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Valdes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rram displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Valdes.
Yajson Rram seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Rram finds it's way through Valdes's defenses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rram lands with a straight right. Valdes didn't see that one coming.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Valdes shoots in but no luck this time.
Valdes takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Valdes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Valdes shoots in and gets a takedown into Rram's guard.
Valdes prevents Rram from getting back to his feet.
Valdes wants to pass the guard but Rram is keeping the position.
Valdes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rram is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Forge that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Rram might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rram looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valdes is one step ahead there.
Valdes wants to pass the guard but Rram is keeping the position.
Rram looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Valdes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rram's guard.
Rram is looking to improve his position.
Valdes wants to pass to mount but Rram is defending the position.

Valdes is thwarting Rram's attempts to control the position.

Valdes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rram is concentrating on defense, preventing Valdes from advancing position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Valdes is looking to advance position but Rram won't allow it.
Rram looks like he's trying to stand up.
Valdes passes to side control.
Rram is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Valdes asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rram struggling a bit here.
Rram tries to buck Valdes off but Valdes is having none of it.
Rram manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Valdes has his foot on Rram's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rram works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valdes takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Yajson Rram is winning the standup battle so far.
Valdes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rram displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Valdes.
Rram stuffs the takedown attempt from Valdes. Valdes gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valdes is defended easily by Rram.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Valdes shoots for a double leg takedown but Rram sprawls well. He's pushed Valdes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rram works Valdes's body with a nice hook.
Rram works the jab nicely.
Valdes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Valdes shoots in but Rram avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rram is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Valdes can do to turn this around?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rram comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Nice uppercut lands for Rram. That snapped Valdes's head back.
Rram pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Valdes back to the cage. Rram follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Rram leaves Valdes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Valdes is still on wobbly legs! Can Rram finish him?
Rram dances in with a quick combination. Valdes is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Rram snaps Valdes's head back. Valdes stumbles backwards against the cage. Rram steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Valdes's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Valdes just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Yajson Rram!
