The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Alvarez defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.
Alvarez keeps the fight on the outside.
A little jabbing left from Alvarez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Alvarez digs a good body shot into Smith's ribs.
Alvarez scores with a spinning back kick!
Alvarez thumps Smith with a low kick.
Smith tries to clinch there but Alvarez circles away.
Alvarez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.
Smith looks to land a body kick but Alvarez moved away.
Jab, jab by Alvarez - just one landing.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Alvarez's coach down at Touch Of Death Combat Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Alvarez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alvarez sprawls well. Alvarez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alvarez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt
and Alvarez counters with a head kick that drops Smith to the mat! Smith scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Smith is rocked!
Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alvarez's waist but Alvarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alvarez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Alvarez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Alvarez feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
Scott Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvarez stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Alvarez cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Alvarez finish him?
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alvarez lands a slapping body shot.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith has his takedown stuffed
and Alvarez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Alvarez lands a front kick.
Alvarez is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Alvarez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Alvarez lands a big right hand that sends Smith crashing to the mat! Alvarez stays standing though and waves Smith back to his feet!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alvarez.
Alvarez lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Smith head around and knocks him out cold! Alvarez hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Whorely Alvarez!
Whorely Alvarez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
