Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott John (ranked 944 p4p, 106 weight class) and Gniewomir Lach (ranked 652 p4p, 75 weight class). Lach is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Soel. Gniewomir Lach told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gniewomir Lach! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John misses with a hook. Lach ducked under it nicely. Scott John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lach looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
John throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've been informed that Lach has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. John smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Gniewomir Lach has been cut. John seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. John swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. John checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. John throws a lazy right hand but Lach sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. John throws a shot from downtown. Lach moves away and avoids it. John swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lach counters with a low kick, right behind John 's knee. John just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John throws a shot from downtown. Lach moves away and avoids it. John connects with a leg kick. Lach looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. A low kick from John misses and John takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lach keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
John darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. John throws a lazy body kick and Lach counters with a body kick. John is breathing heavily. John throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. John swings and misses with a shot to the body and Lach counters with a crisp right hand that drops John! Lach lets John back up to his feet, looking for a finish! John stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lach. Lach cracks John on the jaw with a powerful right hand and John falls backwards against the cage. Lach follows up with more strikes that drop John to his knees. Lach keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save John! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gniewomir Lach! Gniewomir Lach decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
