Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carter Mendoza (ranked 3230 p4p, 366 weight class) and Mathew Hallaway (ranked 4252 p4p, 434 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
A big left from Mendoza misses.
Hallaway now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
A combination from Mendoza does no damage.
Mendoza lands a nice shot to the body.
Mendoza dodges the punch combination from Hallaway.
Mendoza throws a nice looking combination but Hallaway bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hallaway slips a jab and a cross from Mendoza.

and Hallaway counters with a crisp one two that drops Mendoza! Hallaway thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Mendoza to his feet! Mendoza is in big trouble!

No joy there for Mendoza, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh Mendoza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mendoza throws a series of punches but Hallaway avoids them all with ease.
Hallaway throws a right hand that Mendoza ducks under and follows up with a left that Mendoza also avoids with ease.
Mendoza misses with a wild combination.
Carter Mendoza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab lands there for Mendoza.
Mendoza seems to have got his legs back now.

Mendoza throws a hook to the side of Hallaway's head but Hallaway sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mendoza scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hallaway misses with a double jab.
Hallaway lands a right hook to the body.

Hallaway doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Hallaway connects with a stiff jab that staggers Mendoza - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Mathew Hallaway was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
