Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Striker Steel Penn (ranked 22825 p4p, 443 weight class) and Chase Bam Bam (ranked 5647 p4p, 393 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Striker Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chase Bam Bam!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bam Bam throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steel Penn's waist but Steel Penn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bam Bam off to one side.
Bam Bam tries to clinch
enabling Steel Penn to counter with a crisp jab.
Bam Bam shoots for a takedown but Steel Penn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bam Bam.
Steel Penn takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Steel Penn takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Steel Penn definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bam Bam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Steel Penn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bam Bam.

Bam Bam tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Bam Bam sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Steel Penn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Bam Bam working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The ground and pound from Bam Bam seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Bam Bam is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Bam Bam tries to score with some ground and pound. Steel Penn controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Steel Penn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steel Penn tries to get out of the position.
Bam Bam looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Steel Penn is avoiding damage well.
Bam Bam in side control, throwing shots but Steel Penn defends.
Bam Bam postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bam Bam misses with the ground and pound.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Steel Penn comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Steel Penn throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Bam Bam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A punch lands to the side of Bam Bam 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Steel Penn slaps away a takedown attempt from Bam Bam, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Striker Steel Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Bam Bam.
Bam Bam looks winded!

Bam Bam closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bam Bam lands in his opponent's guard.
Steel Penn wants to stand and escape but Bam Bam is having none of it.
Steel Penn keeping moving, preventing Bam Bam from controlling successfully.
Bam Bam in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bam Bam won't allow Steel Penn to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bam Bam postures up and lands a big shot to Steel Penn's brow.
Steel Penn wants to stand and escape but Bam Bam is having none of it.
Bam Bam stays in close to Steel Penn's body and controls the position.
Bam Bam stops Steel Penn from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Steel Penn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steel Penn wants it to stay on the feet.
Bam Bam takes one to the side of the head.
Bam Bam gets cracked there but stands up to it.


Bam Bam is rocked!
Bam Bam loses concentration momentarily and Steel Penn pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Bam Bam crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Steel Penn finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Striker Steel Penn!
Chase Bam Bam spoke after the fight, saying 'Back to the gym, time to get better starts now'.
