The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horne closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Horne is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pidr defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Horne in particular looking to stall.

Horne is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pidr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Horne.

Horne is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pidr defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horne is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pidr is just riding it out for now. Horne eventually gives up the hold.
Horne lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Pidr tries to kick Horne off but Horne keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Horne is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pidr sees it coming and defends easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, if Horne is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Horne is looking to advance position but Pidr won't allow it.
Pidr is trying to stand.
Horne is taking a breather. Pidr says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Horne lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Horne drops an elbow to the side of Pidr's head.

Horne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Horne lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Horne scores with a big shot! Pidr's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Pidr! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
