Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dom Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Jankins! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Walker looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jankins scores with a jab to the body. Jankins dives in for a single leg takedown but Walker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Jankins shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense. Walker throws a hook to the side of Jankins's head but Jankins sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Walker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Walker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walker wants it to stay on the feet. We've been told by Walker's head coaches at Cozad MMA New York that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dom Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Jankins. Jankins shoots for a takedown but Walker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jankins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Walker pinned against the cage. Walker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jankins shoots in and drives through. Walker sprawls well. Jankins shoots for a double leg takedown but Walker sprawls well. He's pushed Jankins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jankins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jankins shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Jankins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Walker throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker misses with a straight right. Jankins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Walker as he jumps to the side. Walker misses with a double jab.
Jankins wants to counter with a clinch but Walker pushes him away. Jankins throws a series of strikes that have Walker backpedaling.
Jankins misses with a takedown attempt - Walker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nice sprawl there from Walker as Jankins shoots in. Walker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Walker throws a lazy head kick and Jankins counters with a one-two to the body. Jankins takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Walker throws a sloppy head kick and Jankins moves out of range easily. Walker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Walker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jankins.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Jankins. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Left hook, right uppercut from Jankins. Jankins wants to clinch. Jankins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Walker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jankins has closed the distance and engaged Walker in a clinch.
Walker avoids a wild elbow strike from Jankins. Jankins changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Walker fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker gets tackled into the cage by Jankins. Jankins maintains the clinch. Jankins is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Jankins wants to take the fight to the mat but Walker manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Jankins prevents the takedown attempt.
Jankins has Walker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Walker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Walker gets control of Jankins's arms and successfully pulls guard. Walker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Jankins content to stall in guard here. Let's hope that Jankins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walker is working an open guard so Jankins takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jankins gets a clinch. The referee calls for Jankins to work.

Dom Walker dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jankins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walker defends it nicely. Dom Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walker checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Horrible takedown attempt by Jankins or perhaps it was just good defense by Walker, which made it look bad. Dom Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Jankins. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jankins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jankins tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Walker defends well and Jankins ends up having to push Walker into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Walker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Jankins goes for a double leg but Walker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Walker continues to drive forward. Walker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jankins moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Jankins on the wrong end of a nice jab. Walker dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jankins moves into the clinch. Jankins fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jankins or perhaps it was just good defense by Walker, which made it look bad. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Walker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jankins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jankins stalls. Jankins manages to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dom Walker will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Jankins will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Walker up against the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Jankins - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jankins takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Jankins digs a right hand underneath Walker's ribcage. And that's the end of the fight! Dom Walker showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Walker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
