Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dalibor Drahomir (ranked 1655 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jao Rua (ranked 515 p4p, 67 weight class). Drahomir comes into the arena with Outspoken blaring out of the sound system. Rua has chosen Tarantula as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Dalibor Drahomir! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 4 losses; Jao Rua! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Rua clinches up against the cage. Drahomir tightens his grip and picks Rua up, before dumping him to the ground. That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Drahomir prevents Rua from improving his position. Drahomir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rua has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Drahomir is working away from the top position though. Drahomir controlling the action here. Rua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drahomir tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Drahomir stalling away here and it's allowed Rua to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Drahomir passes Rua's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua is trying to maintain the position but Drahomir is very close to passing his half guard. Drahomir keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rua trying to control from the bottom.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Rua pulls Drahomir in close to his closed guard and prevents Drahomir from doing any damage or advancing position. Drahomir tries to free his leg and advance position but Rua is retaining full guard.

Rua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drahomir is one step ahead there. Drahomir wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. Rua working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drahomir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drahomir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Rua is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rua is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rua has his hands on Drahomir's head, controlling the position. Drahomir has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Drahomir trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Drahomir controlling from the top position. Our spies down at at Touch Of Death Combat Academy inform us that Rua has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drahomir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Drahomir engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Rua is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Drahomir (5) vs (2) Rua Drahomir gets back to full guard.
Rua tries to free his leg and advance position but Drahomir is retaining full guard. Drahomir looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Drahomir keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully.

Rua is pushing down on Drahomir's leg trying to pass to half guard. Drahomir is fighting to maintain full guard but Rua has managed to sneak the leg through. Rua looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
