Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sou Senior (ranked 3062 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Melander (ranked 4081 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melander moves away from the strike by Senior.
And Melander tries to counter it with a takedown but Senior pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Melander looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Melander tries for a takedown but Senior sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Senior ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Senior lands with an uppercut that bounces Melander off the cage and back into range.
Senior connects with a right hand. Melander shakes it off.
Melander takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Melander has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Melander there as he acknowledges the shot.
Senior lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Melander tries to close the distance and clinch up but Senior swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Senior throws a lazy right hand but Melander sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Senior with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Senior swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Melander darts in looking for a takedown but Senior gets double underhooks and turns Melander into the cage.
Melander tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Senior counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Melander thinking.
Melander looks winded!
Senior leaves Melander with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sou Senior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Melander.

Melander on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Senior lands with a cross.
Horrible takedown attempt by Melander or perhaps it was just good defense by Senior, which made it look bad.
A big left from Senior misses.
Melander fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Melander is rocked!
Senior misses with an uppercut. Melander saw that one coming.
Sou Senior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Melander shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Senior counters with a crisp right hand that drops Melander! Senior lets Melander back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Melander is still on wobbly legs! Can Senior finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Melander shoots in for a double leg but Senior sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Senior connects with a body shot that sends Melander's belly button to the back.
Senior throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Melander stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Melander seems to have recovered his senses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Senior circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Melander to the canvas! Melander doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Senior keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
