Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Lafleur (ranked 4581 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Thompson (ranked 4538 p4p, 437 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson walks into a left hand.
It looks like Derrick Thompson has been cut.
Lafleur has Thompson up against the cage in a clinch.
Thompson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lafleur after a bit of a struggle.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lafleur changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Thompson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Lafleur. Those never looked like landing.
Lafleur lands with a slapping head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thompson in particular looking to stall.

Let's hope that Thompson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Thompson has control of Lafleur's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lafleur regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Thompson has hold of Lafleur's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lafleur manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Thompson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lafleur's face.
Lafleur knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thompson on the ground.
