PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lukey Kline (ranked 5628 p4p, 394 weight class) and Don Piano (ranked 4277 p4p, 345 weight class). Piano is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: AC/DC - Night Prowler. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lukey Kline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Piano!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kline drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kline is pushing down on Piano's leg trying to pass to half guard. Piano is fighting to maintain full guard but Kline has managed to sneak the leg through.
Piano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kline. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kline prevents Piano from improving his position.
Kline throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kline has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kline thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Piano's head.
Kline throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kline is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Piano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kline.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kline wants to take a breather but Piano is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piano has hold of Kline's hands but Kline slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Piano slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kline stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Piano swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kline trying to control but Piano is working from the bottom.
Piano working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kline.
Kline is looking to advance position but Piano has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Kline might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kline tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Piano controlling the position easily from mount.
Kline keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kline is working hard here to advance position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kline wants to hold on but Piano pushes him away.
Kline is wriggling around trying to escape.
Piano takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kline is desperately trying to improve his position but Piano has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Piano tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kline tries to reverse the position but Piano maintains control.
Piano content just to control the position here.
Kline tries to hold on but Piano postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kline is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Don Piano will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kline fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Piano manages to avoid it.
A lazy left from Piano finds it's target.
Kline shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Piano but Piano pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kline keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kline misses with a hook to the body
enabling Piano to counter with a crisp jab.
Kline throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Piano with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Nice defenses there by Kline.
Kline attempts a counter takedown but Piano avoids it well and moves away.
Piano has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Piano lands a left and a right that send Kline crashing to the mat, dazed. Piano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Kline is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Piano closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Kline out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Don Piano!
After the big win, Don Piano made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Groove Gear and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
In defeat, Lukey Kline stepped up to the mic, saying 'No worries. It's a well-known fact that my opponent has had a problem with testing positive for PEDs, so I'm confident the result will soon be declared 'No Contest.''.
