The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Costa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hammer.
Hammer misses the jab.
It seemed like Da Costa was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hammer throws a body punch but Da Costa moves out of range.
Da Costa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hammer to score with a decent uppercut.

It looks like Tiago Da Costa has been cut.

Hammer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Da Costa.
Da Costa throws a big counter head kick but Hammer avoids it with no problem.

Hammer rushes Da Costa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Da Costa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hammer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fritz Hammer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiago Da Costa.
Hammer makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Da Costa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hammer uses from the top position.
