Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Donegal (ranked 4703 p4p, 411 weight class) and Cal Gary (ranked 4742 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cal Gary! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donegal goes for a double leg but Gary avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gary continues to drive forward. Gary is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Gary moves into the clinch successfully.
Gary scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Danny Donegal has been cut. Gary breaks the clinch.

Gary has closed the distance and engaged Donegal in a clinch.
Donegal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gary walks away with a smile on his face. Donegal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gary closes the distance and clinches. Gary breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donegal shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Donegal. That's going to take a lot out of him. Donegal shoots in for a double leg but Gary sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Despite the aggression on Gary's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Donegal looks to score with a jab to the body but Gary is just out of range. Gary tries to counter with a clinch but Donegal shakes him off and moves away. Gary clinches up with Donegal and pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gary landing knees to the head.
Donegal jumps guard but Gary stands there with Donegal around his waist. Donegal gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Donegal shoots in but Gary avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gary is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Gary darts in and clinches Donegal up against the cage. Gary should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Donegal takes an elbow to the temple. Gary creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Donegal's defenses. Gary lands a damaging elbow. Gary holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Donegal goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gary prevents it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donegal is looking for a takedown. Gary lands a knee to the head.
A body shot lands from Gary.
Donegal is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gary lands an elbow inside that Donegal shrugs off. Gary lands a good knee to the midsection. Donegal won't want to take too many of those. Donegal takes an elbow to the forehead. Gary gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gary wants to stand but Donegal has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gary is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Gary wants to pass to mount but Donegal is defending the position. Donegal wants to improve his position but Gary is controlling well.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gary really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Donegal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gary tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Donegal shoots in and bounces Gary off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donegal wants to pass the guard but Gary is keeping the position. Donegal slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Donegal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Donegal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Donegal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cal Gary dominated that round. The cut man is working on Danny Donegal's cut. That's time! Donegal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Donegal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Donegal looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Donegal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gary looks like he's trying to stand up.
Danny Donegal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Donegal is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Donegal has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gary defend it? Donegal steps over the head and cranks it - Gary is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Donegal!
