Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seb Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yago Barros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Tribe. Yago Barros has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Seb Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yago Barros!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Barros. That's going to slow Silva down.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barros swivels and escapes.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Barros sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Barros gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Barros is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Barros wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Silva trying to control but Barros is working from the bottom.
Barros has control of Silva's left arm, preventing Silva from doing any damage.
Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Barros controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Barros keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Barros is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva stops Barros from standing up.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barros's guard.
Silva is keen to just control but Barros is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Barros trying to hold on to Silva's head to control him but Silva postures up.
Barros wants to get back to his feet.
Barros is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Barros is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Barros is riding his opponent, not letting Silva buck him off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barros has the hooks in. Silva is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Silva wants to control his opponent's hands but Barros gets his hands free.
Barros is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Silva looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Seb Silva just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Barros misses with a few strikes there.

Barros tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.

Silva is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Barros postures up.
Barros landing with the ground and pound.
Barros tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barros throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yago Barros dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Barros throws a head kick that misses.
Silva tries for a takedown but Barros sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Barros connects with a high kick.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Barros throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Barros throws a front kick that sends Silva stumbling back into the cage.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Barros tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barros manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seb Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Barros moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Barros smiles and moves away.
Silva takes a kick to the side of the head.

Barros shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
Silva is trying to keep Barros in close.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva looking to control but Barros passes into half guard.

Silva looking for submissions off his back.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Barros has control of the leg.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barros is working away from the top position though.
Barros is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silva keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Silva trying to control but Barros postures up.
Barros takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Silva is positioning himself well to prevent Barros advancing to mount.
Silva tries to roll over but Barros keeps him under control.
Silva wants to control but Barros is keeping busy.
Silva holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Seb Silva just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Barros tries a head kick but it misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Barros fails to land the takedown.
Barros throws a one two combo.
Silva tries for a takedown but Barros sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Barros rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Silva takes a knee right on the jaw!
Barros lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Silva tries to pull guard but Barros won't allow it.

Barros breaks from the clinch.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Barros shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yago Barros showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Barros lands with a kick to the temple. Silva shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Barros misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barros but Barros pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Silva scores a takedown into full mount!
Silva throwing strikes here but Barros is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Barros wants to control but Silva is having none of it.
Barros is trying desperately to improve position.

Silva has isolated one of Barros's arms. Barros looking to fight him off but Silva twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Seb Silva!
