Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Washington Reis (ranked 6097 p4p, 517 weight class) and Hino Masaru (ranked 3702 p4p, 396 weight class). Masaru has chosen Telephone Number as his entrance music. The key to victory for Washington Reis has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Washington Reis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hino Masaru! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reis throws a low kick but Masaru avoids it. A big left from Reis misses. And Masaru tries to counter it with a takedown but Reis pushes his down on his head and steps out. Masaru shoots in and bounces Reis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Masaru thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Reis is looking to stand up but Masaru isn't so interested in that idea. Reis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reis tries to get out of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reis has Masaru pulled in close to control his posture. Reis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Masaru drops back looking for a leg! Reis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reis manages to kick Masaru off! Masaru jumps back into Reis's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masaru thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Reis has a closed guard, preventing Masaru from standing up. Reis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Masaru's guard. Masaru scores with a nice shot. Masaru utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Reis trying to control but Masaru is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masaru working a defensive guard here.
Masaru keeping moving, preventing Reis from controlling successfully. Masaru isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Reis stacks Masaru on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Reis! Masaru is trying to improve his position. Masaru is not content to let Reis control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reis working the ground and pound. Masaru manages to get back to half guard. Masaru makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Masaru. Reis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Masaru is keeping the position for now. Reis trying to control the position from guard on top but Masaru is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Reis stops Masaru from standing up. Masaru is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Reis has his hands clasped together but Masaru extends and breaks Reis's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Masaru.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hino Masaru! Hino Masaru spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
