PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Moore (ranked 213 p4p, 34 weight class) and Johnny Bronco (ranked 656 p4p, 93 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bronco's choice of entrance music: The Horses - Daryl Braithwaite . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Moore!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Bronco!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Watson and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore connects with a nice looking jab.
Moore misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bronco throws a sloppy body shot
and Moore counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bronco fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bronco misses with a jab to the body
and Moore counters with an outside leg kick.
Bronco scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Moore throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Moore.
Bronco tests Moore's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Moore throws a low kick, looking for Bronco's leg but Bronco calmly moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bronco is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

and Bronco counters with a takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bronco tries to advance position but instead Moore slips a leg back in to half guard.

Bronco wants to control but Moore is keeping him busy.
The ground and pound from Bronco seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Bronco is trying to ground and pound but Moore uses the momentary lack of control by Bronco to regain half guard.
Bronco tries to pass the half guard into mount. Moore knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moore is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Blake Phoenix's Champion Factory, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bronco thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Moore's head.
Bronco throwing shots but Moore is blocking nicely.
Bronco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moore keeps working.

Bronco trying to mount his opponent but Moore defends it.
Moore avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bronco.
Bronco is keen to just control but Moore is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bronco is pressing down on Moore's thigh, looking to free his foot. Moore is holding on for now.

Bronco seems to be working for a kimura but Moore defends the submission attempt.

Bronco throws some wild stikes that Moore manages to avoid easily.

Bronco can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Moore is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Moore manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Moore, under a barage of strikes from Bronco.
Bronco is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Bronco looks to land a strike but Moore avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moore keeping moving, preventing Bronco from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bronco is looking to clinch but Moore is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moore lands a nice shot to the body.

Moore throws a leg kick which misses Bronco's front leg but catches the back leg as Bronco tries to avoid it.

Bronco has managed to clinch.
Bronco is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Moore is defending well.
A left hand lands to the body for Moore.
Bronco tries a body shot but Moore blocks it.
Bronco has Moore pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Moore manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Angelo Moore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Bronco.

Bronco throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Moores head.

Bronco pulls Moore into guard.

Bronco looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Moore is defending well. Bronco quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Moore has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bronco celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Johnny Bronco!
Johnny Bronco is the new middleweight champion!
A relieved looking Johnny Bronco thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
