Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pollo Sanchez (ranked 2765 p4p, 323 weight class) and Dan Kolov (ranked 6246 p4p, 497 weight class). Pollo Sanchez had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pollo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Kolov!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries to clinch

and Kolov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sanchez won't be happy with that.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kolov connects with a couple of short punches.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kolov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Kolov shoots in and drives through. Sanchez sprawls well.
Sanchez throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kolov takes one to the chin there.
Kolov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Kolov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sanchez on his heels. He'll look to pass Sanchez's guard now, I'm sure.

Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kolov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Kolov dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kolov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sanchez swivels and escapes.
Sanchez lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Sanchez throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Sanchez delivers a nice body kick.
Sanchez tries to clinch up.
Kolov drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Sanchez defends it well.
Kolov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sanchez as he avoids it easily.
Kolov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sanchez connects with a solid leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez moves in looking to clinch but Kolov pushes him off.
Sanchez scores with a jab. Kolov acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Kolov misses with a takedown attempt
and Sanchez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pollo Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Kolov.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Sanchez. Kolov shrugs it off though.
Dan Kolov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kolov is breathing heavily.
Sanchez looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Sanchez backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Kolov's temple! It sends Kolov violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Sanchez celebrates and the doctors try to help Kolov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Pollo Sanchez!
