Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ippo Makunouchi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ippo Makunouchi !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcelo Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makunouchi looks to land a left hand but Bravo moved out of range nicely.
Makunouchi waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Bravo. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Bravo to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Bravo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Makunouchi wants to stand but Bravo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bravo pulls Makunouchi in close to prevent any damage.
Makunouchi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bravo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Makunouchi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Makunouchi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bravo uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Makunouchi wants to stand and escape but Bravo is having none of it.

Bravo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Bravo moves out of range of the strikes.
Bravo feints and as Makunouchi raises his hands in defense, Bravo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bravo passes Makunouchi 's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Makunouchi is trying to stand up here but Bravo is controlling him well.

Makunouchi tries to kick Bravo off in order to stand up. Bravo Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Let's hope that Bravo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Makunouchi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bravo asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Makunouchi is letting Bravo control him for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Makunouchi takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcelo Bravo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bravo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bravo escapes and gets back to his feet.
Makunouchi throws a jab when Bravo was well out of range.
Bravo has closed the distance and engaged Makunouchi in a clinch.

Makunouchi is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Makunouchi 's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Bravo has picked Makunouchi up - he's going for a ride! Bravo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Makunouchi tries to kick Bravo off in order to stand up. Bravo Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Makunouchi pushes Bravo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bravo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Makunouchi is pushing Bravo's head away, looking to escape. Bravo manages to hold on to the position though.
A lull in the action here as Bravo stalls from top position.

Bravo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Makunouchi to his feet.

Bravo lands with a slapping head kick.

Bravo slips under a jab from Makunouchi .

Makunouchi throws a looping overhand right but Bravo ducks down to avoid it.

Bravo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Makunouchi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Makunouchi is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Bravo.

Bravo is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Bravo is working for a rear naked choke. Makunouchi is not defending it well and Bravo has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Makunouchi refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Makunouchi 's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
