Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kamden Jackson (ranked 2157 p4p, 257 weight class) and Alka Mangrove (ranked 2483 p4p, 303 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kamden Jackson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kamden Jackson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 1 losses; Alka Mangrove! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Jackson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mangrove's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Jackson (2) vs (0) Mangrove Jackson trying to control but Mangrove is working from the bottom. Mangrove has control of Jackson's left arm, preventing Jackson from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mangrove looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Mangrove is keeping the position. Mangrove is looking for a triangle here but Jackson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Mangrove tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Mangrove's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mangrove isn't going anywhere.

Jackson rolls, trying to escape but Mangrove keeps control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control the position but Mangrove manages to sink in the hooks. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Mangrove's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Mangrove is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Jackson has picked Mangrove up and slammed him! Mangrove can't keep hold of the triangle and Jackson manages to pass to side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Jackson (10) vs (4) Mangrove Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mangrove knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mangrove is not content to let Jackson control the position. Mangrove tries to bench press Jackson off him but Jackson keeps the position. Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mangrove is refusing to be controlled, as Jackson sits in half guard. Mangrove slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mangrove has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though. Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jackson is looking for a kimura but Mangrove is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Mangrove is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jackson trying to mount his opponent but Mangrove defends it. Jackson is working for a submission of some sort.

Our spies down at at Navy Street MMA inform us that Mangrove has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Jackson trying to control but Mangrove is working from the bottom. Mangrove is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mangrove looking to control.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mangrove defends it well. Mangrove regains full guard. Nicely done. Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mangrove swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mangrove keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Mangrove wants to sweep but no luck. Mangrove keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Mangrove has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mangrove is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jackson defends well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that's the end of the fight! Jackson takes the fight on points by 15 to 12. Kamden Jackson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. |
