Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Maggot Soup (ranked 686 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sacha Gardet (ranked 2122 p4p, 0 weight class). Maggot Soup has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maggot Soup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sacha Gardet!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardet missing with a left hand there. Soup was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Soup shoots in but no luck this time.
Soup has been working on his balance at , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Gardet.

Gardet scores with a takedown into Soup's guard.
Gardet looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gardet being controlled here momentarily.
Soup trying to keep a closed guard but Gardet is proving a slippery customer.
Soup is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gardet looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gardet seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gardet wants to pass the guard but Soup is defending well.

Soup is staying active underneath Gardet, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Soup escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gardet gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Soup stops Gardet from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Soup keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gardet swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Soup is now in Gardet's guard. A big mistake from Gardet there, giving up the dominant position!

Soup drops back looking for a leg! Gardet is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gardet manages to kick Soup off! Soup jumps back into Gardet's guard.

Gardet can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Soup controls the pace.

Gardet keeps trying to improve his position.
Soup trying to control but Gardet is working from the bottom.

Gardet working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Soup has passed into half guard!
Gardet wants to improve his position but Soup is controlling well.

Soup is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Soup frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Sacha Gardet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Soup is on top in guard.

Soup wants to control from the top but Gardet keeps moving.

Gardet working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soup doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Soup manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gardet looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Soup passes into side control.

Soup swings around for an armbar but Gardet sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Soup's guard.

Soup looking for subs off his back but Gardet has passed one foot through into half guard.
Soup is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gardet's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gardet's back!
Soup keeps control of the position as Gardet tries to break free.

Soup is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Gardet is defending well though. Soup let's go of the attempt for now.
Soup really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Gardet.

Sacha Gardet is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Sacha Gardet.
Well Gardet has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
