Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Julio Fraga!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Izquierdo misses with the combination.
Izquierdo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ivan Izquierdo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Izquierdo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Ivan Izquierdo has been cut.

Izquierdo gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Fraga's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Izquierdo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Fraga scrambles back to his feet.
Izquierdo cracks Fraga with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Izquierdo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It seemed like Fraga was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

The crowd cheers as Izquierdo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fraga doesn't seem phased though.

Fraga now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Fraga connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Izquierdo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fraga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fraga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fraga must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Izquierdo is trying to keep Fraga in close.

Izquierdo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fraga defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fraga takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Fraga avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

letting Fraga counter with a right hand.

Fraga throws an uppercut from hell that sends Izquierdo clean off his feet! He's out cold! Fraga stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
