Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Lauss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maybe Black Belt! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lauss drives through and clinches with Black Belt against the cage.
Lauss is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Black Belt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Black Belt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Black Belt can't find room to land a body shot as Lauss controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Black Belt. Black Belt manages to pull guard.
Black Belt is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Black Belt wants to sweep here but Lauss controlling him for the moment. Lauss got a little sloppy there for a moment and Black Belt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lauss has managed to get both his arms back between Black Belt's legs - danger averted. Black Belt looking for a sweep. Not yet Black Belt, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Black Belt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Lauss definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Lauss is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Black Belt defends well. Black Belt is pushing down on Lauss's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lauss is fighting to maintain full guard but Black Belt has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black Belt not doing much here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Black Belt seems to be looking for submissions.
Black Belt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lauss doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Black Belt. Black Belt has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black Belt sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Black Belt prevents Lauss from getting the reversal. Lauss defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Black Belt.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Black Belt wants to finish this one by submission but Lauss is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Black Belt. This has been an exciting period of action! Black Belt works his way to his opponent's back.
Black Belt has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Lauss is defending well but eventually Black Belt manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Lauss has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Maybe Black Belt!
