The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schlaub throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Schlaub shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Schlaub stalling.

Shiek looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schlaub content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schlaub wants to free his trapped foot but Shiek is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Shiek is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schlaub pulls his head out easily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Schlaub looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Shiek misses with a body shot.
Iron Shiek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shiek looks to throw the jab but Schlaub is out of range.

Schlaub sends Shiek crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Schlaub is motioning to the referee to let Shiek up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Shiek is rocked!

It looks like Iron Shiek has been cut.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Schlaub has cracked Shiek with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Schlaub lands another huge swinging hook and Shiek tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Shiek, before Schlaub can land any more shots!
