Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Samsonov (ranked 354 p4p, 51 weight class) and Vincent Lemieux (ranked 440 p4p, 58 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lemieux rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Samsonov counters with a stiff right hand.
Lemieux misses with a looping left.
Vincent Lemieux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lemieux throws an overhand right that lands on Samsonov's shoulder, as Samsonov tries to avoid the shot.
A head kick by Samsonov misses
and Lemieux makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Samsonov catches Lemieux napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Lemieux to the canvas!

Samsonov tries to free his leg and advance position but Lemieux is retaining full guard.

Lemieux tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Samsonov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Samsonov scores with the left hand. Lemieux knows he should have avoided that one.
Lemieux bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Samsonov's head backwards.

Samsonov throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Lemieux tumbling to the canvas!
Lemieux is still in real trouble! Can Samsonov finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Samsonov pushing down on Lemieux's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Samsonov passes the guard and advances to mount!
Samsonov looking to secure an arm triangle but Lemieux defends it well.
Samsonov has hold of Lemieux's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lemieux manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lemieux seems to have recovered his senses.
Samsonov with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Lemieux tries to lock up and control but Samsonov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Lemieux manages to control the position for a moment.
Samsonov tries to take Lemieux's back but instead Lemieux uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Samsonov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lemieux defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lemieux throws a lazy uppercut
and Samsonov counters with a straight right hand.
Lemieux tests Samsonov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Samsonov moves away from the strike by Lemieux.
Samsonov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lemieux lands a nice looking body shot.
Samsonov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Samsonov there as he acknowledges the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lemieux wants to clinch but Samsonov slips to the side
and Samsonov counters with a left and a right that hurts Lemieux! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Samsonov jumps into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Samsonov goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lemieux turns into him and now he's in Samsonov's guard.

Lemieux throws a looping overhand right but Samsonov ducks down to avoid it.
Lemieux lands a really nice looking cross but Samsonov seems unphased.

Lemieux looks like he wants to counter punch here.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
It looks like Samsonov has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Lemieux darts in and clinches Samsonov up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lemieux drops Samsonov onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Samsonov is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Samsonov is rocked!
Lemieux creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Samsonov with a big uppercut! Samsonov tries to clinch up but Lemieux pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Samsonov to the mat! Samsonov covers up and Lemieux unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
