Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Mohsin Zaidi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeremy Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaidi looks to land a body kick but Jones moved away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Zaidi.
Jones scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Mohsin Zaidi has been cut.
Good leg kick by Zaidi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Zaidi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
Zaidi throws out a leg kick but Jones moves out of range and Zaidi only half commits.
Zaidi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Zaidi connects with a body shot that sends Jones's belly button to the back.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
It seemed like Jones was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Zaidi shoots and misses
and Jones counters with a head kick that drops Zaidi to the mat! Zaidi scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zaidi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jones on the side of the head.
Jones takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Zaidi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Zaidi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Zaidi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zaidi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Zaidi dives in for a single leg takedown but Jones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohsin Zaidi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zaidi gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Jones gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Jeremy Jones tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
