PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Primo Volto (ranked 3362 p4p, 368 weight class) and Boxing Mcsparr (ranked 3107 p4p, 350 weight class). Mcsparr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by AC/DC - Hell's Bells. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Primo Volto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boxing Mcsparr!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcsparr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Volto misses with a wild body shot.
Mcsparr listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Mcsparr stuns Volto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Volto takes one to the chin there.
Volto lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Volto.
Mcsparr misses with a looping right.
Mcsparr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mcsparr gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Volto to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mcsparr keeping full guard, as Volto tries to pass.
Volto looking to sit in guard and control but Mcsparr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mcsparr not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Volto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcsparr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcsparr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mcsparr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Volto working for a triangle but Mcsparr defends it easily.
Volto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mcsparr controlling from the top position.

Volto is looking for a triangle but Mcsparr pushes his legs off easily.
Mcsparr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Volto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Volto controls Mcsparr momentarily but Mcsparr frees himself.
Volto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcsparr controls the pace.

Volto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mcsparr defends it easily.
Volto not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Volto tries to strike from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Volto has his foot on Mcsparr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcsparr works his way back into a safe position though.
Mcsparr stays in close to Volto's body and controls the position.
Mcsparr is continuing to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boxing Mcsparr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mcsparr feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Voltos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A looping hook to the body misses from Volto. Mcsparr does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mcsparr lands a slapping body shot.
Mcsparr lands a glancing blow to the side of Volto's head.
A solid body kick from Mcsparr.
Mcsparr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Volto.
Volto with a poor takedown
and Mcsparr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mcsparr lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Mcsparr lands a really nice looking cross but Volto seems unphased.
Mcsparr scores with a punch to the head.


Volto is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Volto goes for a double leg but Mcsparr avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcsparr continues to drive forward.
Mcsparr works Volto's body with a nice hook.
Mcsparr lands with a cross.
Oh Volto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Volto throws an off balance right hand
and Mcsparr counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Boxing Mcsparr!
Boxing Mcsparr gave a mention to Sportivité in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
