The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mortis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Lexington Mortis has been cut.
Thompson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Thompson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thompson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mortis.
A good leg kick by Mortis.
Mortis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thompson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Mortis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mortis.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lexington Mortis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mortis appears to be looking for a big counter.
Thompson throws a body shot but no joy.
Thompson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mortis in his tracks.

Thompson fails to land with a series of punches.
Mortis tries for a takedown but Thompson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mortis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Thompson bucks up and tries to throw Mortis off but instead Mortis has got his back!
Mortis tries to get the hooks in deep but Thompson pushed the leg off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mortis has got one arm under Thompson's chin. This could be trouble... Thompson trying to control the other hand but Mortis gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Thompson has tapped out! The fight is over!
