1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cristoffer Rangel! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riddick fails to land the takedown. Nice sprawl there from Rangel as Riddick shoots in. Rangel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Riddick avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rangel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Riddick circles away quickly and effectively. Riddick dodges the punch combination from Rangel.
Rangel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Rangel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rangel throws a right and a left that Riddick avoids nicely. Rangel throws a right and a left that both miss. Riddick misses with a wild combination.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Riddick. That's going to take a lot out of him. A punch combination from Rangel misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rangel stuffs the takedown attempt from Riddick. Riddick gets slowly back to his feet. Rangel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Richard Riddick has been cut. Riddick scores a takedown into full mount! Riddick controlling from mount. Rangel blocking the ground and pound. Riddick throwing strikes here but Rangel is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Riddick looking to secure an arm triangle but Rangel defends it well. Rangel is desperately trying to improve his position but Riddick has a good base and remains in mount. Riddick sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Riddick wants to finish this one by submission but Rangel is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Riddick. Rangel wants to hold on but Riddick pushes him away. Riddick working the ground and pound effectively.
Rangel is looking to improve his position but Riddick isn't that keen on the idea. Rangel looks gassed! Riddick moves to back control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddick has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Rangel! Can he survive? No! He's out! Riddick gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
