The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Blade misses with a straight right.
The Blade throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
De Groot moves out of range of the strikes.
The Blade lands a slapping body shot.
Borris The Blade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Blade scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The Blade misses the jab.
De Groot changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
The fighters circling - The Blade throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
De Groot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Blade as he avoids it easily.

De Groot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The Blade.
De Groot misses with a takedown attempt - The Blade sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

De Groot tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Blade sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Groot somewhat.

And De Groot responds with a good body kick, but The Blade manages to step out the way in time.

The Blade is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

De Groot avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

De Groot doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The Blade is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by De Groot.
The Blade throws a hook but De Groot avoids it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Blade catches De Groot with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

De Groot displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as The Blade throws out the jab.
De Groot on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
De Groot gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! The Blade gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! De Groot is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

A relieved looking Borris The Blade thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
