Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bonjour Arrivederci (ranked 4307 p4p, 441 weight class) and Cal Gary (ranked 5621 p4p, 488 weight class). Cal Gary is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bonjour Arrivederci! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cal Gary! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Arrivederci. Arrivederci shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Arrivederci showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arrivederci not landing any meaningful shots this time. Arrivederci wants to pass to mount but Gary is defending the position. Arrivederci sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gary defending well though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Arrivederci tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gary knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Arrivederci not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arrivederci controlling the action here. Arrivederci has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Arrivederci is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Arrivederci is taking a breather. Gary says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Gary should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Arrivederci takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Arrivederci content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Arrivederci will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Arrivederci's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gary has eaten all the pies! Gary tries to clinch and Arrivederci counters with a single leg into guard. Gary didn't expect that. Arrivederci stands and throws Gary's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arrivederci tries to advance to mount but can't. Arrivederci controlling from side mount. Arrivederci has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Arrivederci shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Arrivederci missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Arrivederci seems content to control. Gary on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Arrivederci with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Arrivederci working Gary over with strikes. Arrivederci content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Arrivederci stops Gary from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bonjour Arrivederci dominated that round. That's time! Arrivederci's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Arrivederci changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gary tries to avoid it but Arrivederci manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gary to the ground. Gary escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Arrivederci closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Arrivederci slows the pace down in half guard. Arrivederci is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gary can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arrivederci missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arrivederci is trying to work for a kimura but Gary is defending well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Arrivederci clinches up with Gary and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gary stalling in the clinch but Arrivederci improves position. Gary tries a knee to the head but Arrivederci blocks it.

Arrivederci wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gary has him pressed against the cage. Arrivederci tries to pull guard but Gary holds him up against the cage and eventually Arrivederci drops back down to his feet.
Gary gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gary lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Arrivederci avoids a wild elbow strike from Gary. Come on Arrivederci - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Arrivederci is trying to push Gary away but Gary has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Arrivederci breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arrivederci connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arrivederci closes the distance and clinches. Arrivederci blocks an elbow strike. Arrivederci pulls Gary into guard.
Arrivederci looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Gary is looking to stand up but Arrivederci won't let him. Gary is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Gary preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arrivederci is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Arrivederci on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arrivederci tries to get out of the position. Arrivederci has a closed guard, preventing Gary from standing up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Arrivederci pulls Gary in to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Arrivederci misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gary drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Arrivederci defends it well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gary doesn't manage to clinch there - Arrivederci circles away.
Arrivederci shoots in and drives through. Gary sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bonjour Arrivederci. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arrivederci misses with a low kick.
Gary looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bonjour Arrivederci dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Arrivederci instigates a clinch. Gary throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Arrivederci blocks it with crossed arms. A battle for position here, against the cage. Gary tries a knee to the head but Arrivederci blocks it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Arrivederci. Gary lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Gary connects with a knee to the head.
Arrivederci breaks the clinch.
Arrivederci decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Gary scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Arrivederci manages to mount him!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Arrivederci is landing with some decent strikes but Gary is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arrivederci controlling from the full mount. Arrivederci looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Arrivederci controlling from the full mount. This is a sustained period of stalling by Arrivederci. Arrivederci jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gary is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gary and Arrivederci has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
We've been hearing that Arrivederci has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Arrivederci is chipping away with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Arrivederci is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Gary is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Gary wants to control but Arrivederci postures up. Gary is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Arrivederci has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arrivederci throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Arrivederci is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gary is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gary takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gary struggling a bit here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Arrivederci fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gary, pushing him back against the cage. Gary wants to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gary keeps control of Arrivederci as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gary pushes off an throws an elbow but Arrivederci leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Arrivederci is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Gary to keep the fight standing. Gary lands a damaging elbow. Arrivederci successfully pulls guard.
Arrivederci manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Arrivederci jumps guard but Gary stands there with Arrivederci around his waist. Arrivederci gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Arrivederci has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gary uses from the top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Bonjour Arrivederci showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Arrivederci, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
