Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mason Rogers (ranked 3349 p4p, 292 weight class) and Matti Mattonen (ranked 3804 p4p, 327 weight class). Mattonen has chosen 「KING & ASHLEY」by MY FIRST STORY as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers instigates a clinch.
Mattonen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rogers is defending well.
Rogers wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Rogers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mattonen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Mattonen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mattonen lands in his opponent's guard.

Mattonen is looking for a kimura but Rogers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mattonen to get the leverage.

Rogers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mattonen is working away from the top position though.

Mattonen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rogers sees it coming and defends easily.

Mattonen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rogers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mattonen, into his guard.

Oh but Mattonen is tightening it up a little... Rogers has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rogers reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rogers taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mattonen!

Matti Mattonen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
