But no, Briggs has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

I really don't envy Briggs right now.
Briggs is breathing heavily. Hill is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Briggs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Briggs trying to control the action but Hill just sinks the hooks in.
