CACC 62 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Matvey Pavlov (ranked 1509 p4p, 90 weight class) and Masa Wasa (ranked 1798 p4p, 109 weight class). Pavlov's entrance music is Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights. A fine choice. Wasa has chosen Welcome To The Jungle as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 14 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 27 wins and 17 losses; Masa Wasa!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Pavlov shoots in for a double leg but Wasa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wasa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

We've been hearing good reports from Pavlov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
