Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Scully! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jaromir Jag! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jag stuffs the takedown attempt from Scully. Scully gets slowly back to his feet. Jag fails in his attempt to clinch. Scully shoots in for a takedown but Jag shows good takedown defense. Jag clinches with his opponent.
Scully jumps into guard, dragging Jag to the mat.
Jag wants to control from the top but Scully keeps moving. Scully looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jag tries to stand but Scully is controlling from the bottom. Jag wants to stand and escape but instead Scully has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Scully postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jag preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jag looking to hit a scissor sweep but Scully is one step ahead there. Jag really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scully. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jag not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jag wants to get back to his feet but Scully is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Scully swats away the attempt to clinch by Jag. No luck for Jag with that takedown attempt. Jag fails in his attempt to clinch. Jag doesn't manage to clinch there - Scully circles away.
Scully throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Scully stuffs the takedown attempt from Jag. Jag gets slowly back to his feet. Jag shoots in and bounces Scully off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jag looks gassed! Jag wants to get up but he can't break Scully's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scully looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jag trying to stand up but can't free himself from Scully's guard. Scully is looking to sinch up a triangle. Jag throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Scully's body to avoid the submission. Scully has instead reached around Jag's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Scully arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dan Scully!
