PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Juha Niska (ranked 301 p4p, 9 weight class) and Andrew Frame (ranked 1973 p4p, 48 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Andrew Frame was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juha Niska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Frame!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niska misses the jab.
Frame scores with the left hand. Niska knows he should have avoided that one.
Frame has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Frame avoids the body shot from Niska.
Despite the aggression on Frame's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Frame lands a jab to Niska's midsection.
Niska looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A jab lands there for Frame.

Niska takes the fight into the clinch.
Niska lands an elbow that stopped Frame in his tracks for a moment.

Niska moves into range and clinches up with Frame.
Niska swings wildly with an uppercut but Frame uses good head movement to avoid it.
Niska lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frame has had enough of the clinch but Niska keeps him there for the moment.

Niska digs a right hand into Frame's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Frame's gas tank.

Frame manages to break the clinch.
Niska takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Niska keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Frame's efforts to push away.
Niska misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Niska lands an elbow just above Frame 's eye.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Frame's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Niska lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Frame blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Frame takes an elbow to the temple.

Frame manages to break the clinch.
Niska swings for the body but Frame moves out of range.
Niska dodges the punch combination from Frame.

Niska has managed to clinch.
Niska lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Frame can't find room to land a body shot as Niska controls the action.

Niska tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Niska throws an elbow but misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Frame uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Niska throws a jab but it's blocked by Frame.
Frame dips to his left and cracks Niska with an uppercut!

Andrew Frame is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Frame throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Frame misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Niska.
Niska is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Frame can do to turn this around?
Frame has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Niska finds it's way round the side to connect with Frame's head.

Frame swings for the body but Niska moves out of range.

Frame unleashes a big counter combination but Niska bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Juha Niska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Niska just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frame scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Niska goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Andrew Frame seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Frame is still on wobbly legs! Can Niska finish him?

Frame takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Frame is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Niska doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Frame crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Frame's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Juha Niska!
After the fight, Juha Niska was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
