PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Pryce (ranked 1393 p4p, 172 weight class) and Billy Turturro (ranked 1857 p4p, 227 weight class). Turturro has chosen Mambo Italiano by Dean Martin as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joshua Pryce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turturro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pryce half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Turturro darts in looking for a takedown but Pryce gets double underhooks and turns Turturro into the cage.

Turturro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pryce tries to avoid it but Turturro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pryce to the ground. Pryce escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Turturro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Turturro has hold of Pryce's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pryce manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turturro has control of Pryce's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pryce regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Turturro goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pryce turns into him and now he's in Turturro's guard.

Turturro pushes a forearm under Pryce's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Pryce is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
