Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacob King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Cooper! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper moves out of range as King strikes. Cooper shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Cooper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Cooper swinging wilding here.
Cooper lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but King circles away quickly and effectively. Cooper ducks straight into an uppercut from King and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Cooper maanges to regain guard straight away.
Cooper is rocked!
It looks like Jack Cooper has been cut. Cooper looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cooper is still in real trouble! Can King finish him? Cooper looking for subs off his back but King has passed one foot through into half guard.
Cooper seems to have recovered his senses. It looks like King is going to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper actively working from the bottom here. Cooper is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but King pulls his head out easily. King controlling the action here. King is looking to pass Cooper's guard but actually Cooper recovers to full guard. King stands up and waves to Cooper to follow him. King throws a lazy right hand but Cooper sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. King throws the left hand but Cooper avoids the punch easily. Cooper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. King waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Cooper. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Cooper to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
King stopping the sweep attempt from Cooper. King wants to stand but Cooper has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper is looking for a triangle but King pushes his legs off easily.
King won't allow Cooper to get back to his feet. Cooper looking for a sweep. Not yet Cooper, not yet. Cooper can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as King controls the pace. Cooper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cooper looks gassed! King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. King is looking to stand up but Cooper won't let him. King is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cooper tries to strike from the bottom.
Cooper had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. King is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cooper Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take King's back instead. King breaks Cooper's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
King showing good wrestling skills to control the position. King decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. King throws a sloppy head kick and Cooper moves out of range easily. Cooper ducks under a wild hook from King. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob King dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jack Cooper's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No joy there for Cooper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
King is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cooper. Nice defenses there by Cooper. Cooper ducks under a wild hook from King. King slips a straight right by Cooper. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cooper slips under a jab from King. Cooper shoots in but no luck this time. Cooper fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. King throws the left hand but Cooper avoids the punch easily. Cooper throws a nice looking combination but King bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. King misses with an uppercut. King tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cooper was well out of range. Poor timing from King. King lands a body shot.
Cooper displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab. King swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Cooper counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper is trying to work for a kimura but King is defending well.
Cooper tries to pass the half guard into mount. King knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. King manages to get to full guard.
King is trying to keep Cooper in close.
King is looking to stand up but Cooper isn't so interested in that idea. Cooper postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! King is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cooper, into his guard. Cooper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cooper is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cooper is proving hard to escape from. Cooper looking for subs off his back but King has passed one foot through into half guard.
King decides to stand up. Cooper slips a jab from King.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cooper misses with a combination
and King counters with a lovely straight right hand! King works over Cooper's head and body with a nice combination. King throws a sloppy body shot
and Cooper counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cooper. Cooper stops King from standing up. King has control of Cooper's left arm, preventing Cooper from doing any damage. King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cooper wants to control from the top but King keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. King throws a leg kick but Cooper moved away. Cooper fails with a takedown attempt from distance. King dodges the punch combination from Cooper.
That's one minute gone in the round. King throws a hook but Cooper blocks it. Cooper shoots in but King avoids the takedown attempt easily. King falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cooper counters with a series of strikes. King will be more careful next time no doubt. King misses with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. King misses with an uppercut. King throws a solid leg kick but Cooper takes the impact on his shin and smiles at King. Cooper falls off balance throwing a combination
and King counters with a big right hand! Oh Cooper is in trouble here! King follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
