Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Brendan (ranked 6098 p4p, 157 weight class) and Dand Prem (ranked 24180 p4p, 184 weight class). Mohamed Brendan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dand Prem's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohamed Brendan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dand Prem!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prem will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Prem takes a swing at Brendan's ribcage but misses.
Brendan appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Brendan moves into the clinch.
Brendan is trying to push Prem away but Prem has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Prem breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Prem stuffs the takedown.
Prem is looking to slow Brendan down with leg kicks.
Prem leaves Brendan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prem fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Prem misses with a body kick.

Brendan drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brendan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Prem is trying to control the position but Brendan postures up.

Prem is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brendan is aware though and is defending well.
Brendan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brendan shoots in for a double leg but Prem sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohamed Brendan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brendan gets tackled into the cage by Prem. Prem maintains the clinch.
Prem tries to circle away but Brendan has him pinned against the cage.
Prem lands a nice knee to the body.

Prem breaks from the clinch.
Brendan fails to land the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Prem.
Prem misses with a takedown

and Brendan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Brendan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brendan stays in close to Prem's body and controls the position.
Prem is trying to keep Brendan in close.
Brendan lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Prem looking for a sweep. Not yet Prem, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Prem looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Brendan puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Brendan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Prem!
Brendan controlling his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Prem is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mohamed Brendan will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Prem moves into the clinch.
Brendan fails to pull guard.
Brendan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Prem walks away with a smile on his face. Brendan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mohamed Brendan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Prem tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Brendan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brendan went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Brendan swats away the attempt to clinch by Prem.

Prem moves into the clinch successfully.
Prem wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prem tries to stall but Brendan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Prem looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Brendan pulls guard.
Brendan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's one minute gone in the round.

Brendan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Prem sees it coming and defends easily.
Prem is trying to control but can't.
Brendan lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Brendan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Prem moves into full guard.
Brendan distracts Prem with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Brendan advances position into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brendan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Brendan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Brendan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Prem can do to turn this around?
Prem is looking for a sweep.
Brendan wants to control but Prem is keeping him busy.
Brendan happy to just control the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brendan is looking to take a break and control but Prem is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Brendan passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Prem!
Brendan controlling his opponent.
Brendan with a couple of short strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brendan controlling the pace for now.
Brendan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Prem's face.
Brendan raining down shots from the mount!


Prem is rocked!
Brendan postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Prem in real trouble here! The ref calls for Prem to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mohamed Brendan!
