Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Carryon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valter Custodio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Carryon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Custodio avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Custodio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Custodio is standing up, even though he is in mount.
James Carryon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carryon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Custodio counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carryon won't be happy with that.
Custodio in side control, throwing shots but Carryon defends.
Custodio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Carryon is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Custodio tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carryon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Custodio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carryon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Custodio.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Custodio stands and throws Carryon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Custodio tries to move into full mount but can't pass Carryon's legs.
Carryon gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Carryon wants to improve his position but Custodio is controlling well.

Carryon throws a strike aimed at the side of Custodio's head but Custodio avoids it well.

Custodio is not content to let Carryon control the position.
Custodio manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Custodio is pressing down on Carryon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Custodio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Custodio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carryon is one step ahead there.
Carryon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Carryon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Custodio manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Custodio looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Custodio moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Carryon has worked his arm free - good work by Carryon!
Carryon is looking to reverse the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Custodio is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carryon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Custodio throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Carryon tries to improve position but can't.
Custodio tries to move into full mount but can't pass Carryon's legs.
Custodio postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carryon stops Custodio from passing to mount.
Custodio thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valter Custodio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Carryon is looking to clinch but Custodio is avoiding it.
Custodio shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A head kick misses from Carryon.
Custodio takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Custodio looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Custodio avoids the body shot from Carryon.

Custodio has managed to clinch.
Carryon changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Custodio fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Custodio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carryon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Custodio, into his guard.

Carryon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carryon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Carryon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Custodio decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carryon's guard.
Custodio tries to free his leg and advance position but Carryon is retaining full guard.
Carryon throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Custodio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carryon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
James Carryon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Valter Custodio is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Carryon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
