Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 21 - 1, fighting out of London, Victor Mordino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
61 - 46 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, John Kyle Romo! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romo misses with a right hand and Mordino counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Romo misses with a head kick.
Mordino digs a good body shot into Romo's ribs. Mordino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Romo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mordino throws a series of punches but Romo moves out of range. Romo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Romo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mordino blocks a leg kick. Mordino is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Romo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Romo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. John Kyle Romo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romo moves in looking to clinch but Mordino pushes him off. Mordino thuds a left hand into Romo's body. Romo keeps the fight on the outside. Romo is looking to land body kicks. Romo moves out of range of the body kick. Mordino tries to clinch but Romo is having none of it. Romo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A little jabbing left from Romo on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Mordino misses the shot to the body. Mordino lands with a nice body punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mordino jabs at Romo's body. Romo looks winded! Mordino fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Romo, pushing him back against the ropes. Mordino is trying to break free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mordino looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Romo tries to land knees in the clinch but Mordino avoids the damage to the body. Romo tries a knee to the head but Mordino blocks it.

Mordino is looking to control Romo's arms but Romo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mordino has his back to the ropes. Romo looking to throw knees to the head but Mordino is blocking nicely.
Mordino wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mordino breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mordino lands a jab to Romo's midsection. Mordino connects with an inside leg kick. Mordino lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like John Kyle Romo has been cut. Mordino thuds a left hand into Romo's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romo glances at the clock... BAM! Mordino nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Romo crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Romo is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
