Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Winkle (ranked 1742 p4p, 225 weight class) and Sammy Beach (ranked 1478 p4p, 198 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sammy Beach!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beach gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Winkle to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Beach is looking to sweep but instead, Winkle has passed into half guard.
Winkle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Winkle wants to free his trapped foot but Beach is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Winkle working Beach over with strikes.

Winkle is trying to work for a kimura but Beach is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winkle missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Winkle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Beach's head.

Beach is trying to get back to full guard.
Beach avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Winkle.
Beach keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Winkle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Beach trying to hold on to Winkle's head to control him but Winkle postures up.
Winkle missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Beach won't allow Winkle to pass to mount.
Winkle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Winkle moves into full mount! Beach won't be happy about that!
Beach really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Winkle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Winkle looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Winkle throwing strikes here but Beach is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Winkle trying to control but Beach is having none of it.
Beach avoids a series of strikes thrown by Winkle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winkle content just to control the position here.

Winkle looking for a guillotine from mount but Beach is having none of it.
Winkle thowing shots but they're missing.
Beach wants to hold on but Winkle pushes him away.

Winkle is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Beach is surviving well by controlling Winkle's body position as best he can.
BOOM! Winkle connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Winkle scoring with strikes but Beach is staying in there.
Winkle scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Beach avoids a series of strikes thrown by Winkle.
Winkle looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Winkle throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Winkle lands with some strikes.
Beach tries to hold on but Winkle postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Winkle with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Winkle working for a submission but Beach is keeping him at bay.
Winkle is in the full mount, landing strikes.


Beach is rocked!
Beach holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Winkle tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Winkle working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Winkle dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

It looks like Tony Winkle has been cut.

Beach gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Winkle lands a body punch.
Beach dodges an elbow strike from Winkle.
Beach can't find room to land a body shot as Winkle controls the action.
Winkle wants a takedown but no success here.
Winkle tries to work over Beach's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Beach stops a takedown attempt from Winkle.
Beach pushes Winkle back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Winkle lands a body shot in the clinch.
Winkle jumps guard but Beach stands there with Winkle around his waist. Winkle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Winkle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Winkle is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Beach is keeping busy.
Beach stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Winkle fails to pull guard.
Winkle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Beach can do to turn this around?
A left hand lands to the body for Beach.
Winkle tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Winkle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Beach walks away with a smile on his face. Winkle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Beach has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Winkle is looking to clinch.
Beach displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Winkle.

Beach feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Winkle sprawling to the canvas! Winkle rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Beach finish him?!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beach cracks Winkle with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Beach has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Winkle to stand back up!


Winkle is rocked!

Beach moves into range and clinches up with Winkle.
Oh Winkle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Beach tries to work over Winkle's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Winkle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Beach just stands there and leans against the cage.
Beach is leaning against Winkle and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Winkle seems to have got his legs back now.
Beach lands a shoulder strike.
Winkle tries to pull guard but Beach forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Winkle misses with a hook from the clinch.
Winkle tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Beach smiles and moves away.

Beach drops Winkle with a straight right hand, right on the button! Beach follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Tony Winkle was interviewed post fight and said 'I'd like to apologise to my sponsors for losing thank you for the fight Aapo. I'm still willing to fight any lad in the division.'.
